Whenever a customer is having issues with a product, the Smith Industrial team asks a series of questions to first, establish what kind of problem we're dealing with, and secondly, to offer the best possible solution.
I was recently sent this picture from a customer having issues with premature wear parts failure.
My first question is always to find out what airline pressure the tool is being operated at. Is the air source being regulated with a gauge at 95psi? If these tools are operated at 100psi or above the increased velocity of the internal working parts will cause and early failure to the internal percussion parts.
Smith Industrial Supply have developed a portable air maintenance unit to properly condition the air in field applications.
